The Most Rented Games of 2008 Revealed, Xbox 360 Doubles Wii Rentals

11
The top rented game in 2008--and therefore the disc most likely to be scratched and thumb-printed--was the Xbox 360 version of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV, according to rental tracker Rentrak.

Rentrak records its data from both online and brick-and-mortar rental shops on a weekly basis.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Halo 3 rounded out the top three, while Fallout 3 squeezed into eight position despite its late third quarter release.

Rentrak points out that the Xbox 360's overall rental market share increased from 26.1% to 36.8% in 2008, while Wii game rentals jumped from 7.3% in 2007 to 17.1% in 2008. Seven of the top-ten 2008 titles were rated Mature, compared to four in 2007.

The full list of 2008's most rented games follows:

  1. Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360)

It's awesome that you used the word 'juxtapose'. That is all.

I'm surprised that you find that word interesting. I tend to use it so much that it's lost its lustre. Now, lustre, on the other hand... that's a fun word. And trepidation. Which I felt when I thought about replying to a comment aobut a word. Much trepidation.

I prefer beginning a sentence with the word "And" and ellipses are always awesome! Follow up with the word "aobut" and you're golden.

Are you calling me out on style and typos in a response to a response to a user comment to a video game news release? What next, heading to a WWE match and commenting on the dress code?

Besides, "And trepidation." isn't a sentence, it's a fragment. So, nobody started a sentence on "And."
