Have no idea what X-COM is? Always nodding and smiling when your friends reminisce about the series, carefully hiding your shameful secret? This weekend is your opportunity to prevent future game discussion embarrassment.

Valve today announced that the X-COM: Complete Pack--which includes five games from the UFO invasion series--has been reduced in price to a mere $5 on Steam.

The deal will conclude at the end of the weekend, so get on it early. Happy isometric hunting.

Hmmm, I played through the origianl XCOM twice...once in Super Genius setting. I estimate I spend 200 hours playing that game, which was a shitload back in that day. One of my favorite games of all time.

There aren't many games that I regularly play after 15 years, but X-COM is one of them! For $5, do yourself a favour and see what it's all about! Don't let the pukey graphics get ya down, the gameplay is awesome.

Only the first 2 games in the series are worth playing, in my opinion. Of course the graphics aren't state-of-the-art; these games are more than a decade old. But those of you who value graphics more than gameplay aren't my kind of people anyways. Now that I think about it, if you haven't played X-COM already, well, there's probably not much hope for you.

X-Com Apocalypse is an amazingly kick ass game. Best implementation of paused/realtime squad gameplay ever. I don't think any game has ever replicated it or even come close. Eat napalm, Temple of Sirius scum! :D

I think it's sweet how the environment is completely destructible, like even how fire can spread and slowly things will start to collapse. Like I had a squaddie get brained by a collapsing girder, which is crazy because right before it happened I saw the smoke spreading above him and knew the fire was raging above and I was like "Hmmm...I wonder if the roof is going to come down".

I really love these games, will even buy them from steam. I really wish they remade them. The concept is exellent, and the different playstyles are so awesome, the base building, the intercepting and the missions. Love this game! Remake it with physics, random maps and evil aliens! =)

I bought Terror from the Deep when they first put it on steam. played it a little, but really, I was buying it to encourage them to remake it.

I have now bought this package. I will probably replay apocalypse some day, (probably the only game that has technically withstood the test of time). But mostly, I bought it to encourage them to get on with the remake.

Unfortunately, didn't get a "gift card" for Terror from the Deep, otherwise I could have gifted it to someone who was on the fence about the games...

for anyone (at 2k games I think) who is working on the remake, these are the things I want you to do:
