Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising Announced; Stand-alone Digital Download
by Maarten Goldstein, Jan 08, 2009 5:22am PSTThe PC version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, released last October, will receive a digital download expansion this March, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.
Titled Uprising, the stand-alone expansion will offer four mini-campaigns for each faction, along with an additional campaign focusing on the origins of the Empire of the Rising Sun's commando Yuriko.Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Uprising also introduces the "Commander's Challenge". This feature will allow you to test your skills against a set of nine commanders from different territories and difficulty levels in 50 challenges, all with their own conditions and game rules.
Also look for new live-action cutscenes. Gemma Atkinson and Ivana Milicevic are among those actors returning; additional cast members will be announced soon.
"Uprising is a game that in many ways reflects the feedback we have gotten from the Command & Conquer community," said EA Los Angeles senior producer Amer Ajami."We're giving gamers more of what they want - more of the fast, fluid and fun gameplay, more of the story we began to tell in Red Alert 3 and more cutscenes featuring top-notch Hollywood talent. At the same time, we're excited we're going to be able to bring new things to the mix, including new units and the Commander's Challenge, which is a great way for players to hone their skills and get deeper into the combat."

whenever i play wow or other MMO's i catch myself daydreaming about a real-world, JUST post-rome MMO.
instead of 2 factions like every other MMO, there could be 5: Britons, Huns, Goths, Byzantines, and Muslims... the main forces that were present / brought on the fall of Rome.
it could be a map of europe scaled down to WoW size... and there could be a LIVE diplomacy based on the players needs. perhaps the muslims and byzantines have allied and are pillaging every germanic town in the countryside. so the goths call on the help of the britons to rescue them from the incoming muslim/byzantines. but the britons have to decide AS A PEOPLE with some sort of 2-week long voting event with different poll locations in all the villages and main cities.
also there should be the ability to literally create a character and NEVER go to war, work in the markets for money and sell merchandise to the soldiers and other merchants. (the incentive for this would be to make money for your soldier alt most likely)
each 'tribe' or 'people' whatever you want to call them would be created completely according to their historical style and would be different from each other in class type / playing style. english the masters of longbow and Huns strong with cavalry (did i mention the ability to fight on horseback and get dismounted)
anyways its a HUGE daydream but you can imagine the rest... i think itd be one hell of an interesting and fun game
