I'm still plodding on with my macbook pro 1.8ghz 15 inch. I'm moving abroad indefinetly in a few months, and i really need to travel lite. I'm selling nearly everything i own from all my consoles, to my dvds etc to help fund this trip. I consider it essential i have a laptop with me for the kind of work i'm doing, but the thought of lugging my 15inch MBP around doesn't fill me with pleasure.
So i'm thinking of selling this piece of junk too, and putting it towards the 2.4 ghz macbook. From what little research i've done, its the closest thing to 13inch MBP right? I want the fastest smallest laptop i can get, and i'm much more comfortable using osx to boot.
So is there anything i should know or what out for? How did you find the displays? I'm used to a matt display on my MBP, is this gonna drive me crazy? I should be fine without a firewire i think, but is there anything else i should be worrying about? Also i'm going for the 2.4 ghz rather than the 2.1 i think it is, is this worth the extra money? A big selling point for the 2.4 was the backlit keyboard which i'd miss. And i'd kinda rather make a big investment now, cause i can't really upgrade it later.
THOUGHTS?!?!

If you are planning on using the Windows 7 Beta AND have most of your CD's ripped to MP3 like I do, READ THE RELEASE NOTES FOR THE BETA!
Make sure you set your MP3 files to read-only and back them up. The thumbnailer in Windows 7 gets confused by MP3's with non-standard metadata inserted at the beginning and can cause the first several seconds of your MP3 files to get deleted/corrupted.

i read ender's game last week and speaker for the dead this week. i liked both, but they were very different books. ender's game was sweet because it was all "young dude meets his destiny" type stuff (i really liked magician by raymond e feist for this reason too). speaker for the dead was awesome because it had a slow reveal and touched on some pretty interesting philosophical elements.
is it worth reading the other two books in the series? i've heard xenocide isn't that great. should i quite while i'm ahead?
and can anyone else recommend some really good sci fi? not necessarily hardcore explain-how-a-warp-drive-works type sci-fi, just really good stories.

Never have I been so attached to a cast of characters before. They're all like old friends.
Mal - "Get the information. Just don't hurt him."
Jayne - "But I like hurting!"
Mal - "JUST.... scare him."
Jayne - "Pain is scary!"

Freaking bad tanks should figure out that they suck. A DK was supposedly tanking in a non heroic Old Kingdom and he was barely taking over 50% of the damage being done to us. someone asked if we had a healer and I merely asked if we had a tank. he whines about us finding a better tank and leaves party.
Its one thing to be a bad tank but a bad emo whiny tank is pretty goddamn lame.

How much does one night of gluttony set you back in the scheme of things if you are eating relatively healthy for the rest of the week? I am trying to trim down 10lb so I get back to being jacked (and tanned) so I've basically been on a healthy eating plan. But this Friday I kind of want to go to Hooters and get smashed out of my mind on wings and sam adams winter lager. Would this significantly mess up my diet being that I ate healthy for the entire week prior?

So far as I can tell there is no solicitor to talk to. There is a line for those pleading no contest and then this crazy sign up sheet to go in front of the judge.
Really stupid thing is I already know the ticket I'm waiting for will be dismissed (had an issue with my tag which I have since resolved).
Not to mention I had to drive an hour to get to this place at 9 in the morning and I never get up before noon otherwise as I work nights.
Irony++ I actually went through the same area I got pulled over faster than the first time as the speed of traffic in rush hour is crazy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OCD
I think I'm midly OCPD though:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsessive-compulsive_personality_disorder
Instead, they normally place emphasis above all on perfection and arranging objects, their own time, other people's activities and their own. They may feel anxious when they perceive that things are not "right." This can lead to routines and "rules" for ways of doing things, whether for themselves or their families, that can often seem similar to the rituals of OCD. Rather than get something wrong, OCPD individuals will make lists of things to do and how to do them. Then they go on adding to the lists, or find new associated things to do, meaning they may never finish what they wanted to do in the first place. This is most of all a problem at work or for students.
It's like I have all of the symptoms... but barely. lol, I can't even have OCPD right.
