Bionic Commando PC Coming After Console Release

The PC edition of GRIN's Bionic Commando will "shortly" follow the release of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, according to publisher Capcom.

"[Bionic Commando] will be initially available for gamers on Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment's PLAYSTATION 3 with the PC version following shortly afterwards," noted Capcom.

The developer had previously spoken out, suggesting that the PC version could be delayed due to piracy concerns and the need for more polish.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 releases of the gun-toting, mechanical arm-swinging action game are due out by the end of March 2009. The PC delay continues in the Capcom tradition that saw Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet hit PC months after consoles, with the impending Street Fighter 4 likewise receiving a delayed PC release.

Publishers and/or developers, you can feel free to continue doing this, but if you do we don't want to hear a single word of your bitching about poor PC sales performance anymore okay

Well, why? If they make you wait longer you will probably buy it for your 360 but if you could pirate it for your pc at the same time alot of people don't have to think twice. I actually support this (having a 360).

The problem with this is that it seems like the only reason for it is to turn a few of the PC downloads into 360 sales, but I can't really see this doing anything but resulting in lower PC sales than if both versions were released on the same day (maybe it's a higher number of sales overall though), and those lower sales are mostly blamed on piracy. Then, for the next game, more anti-piracy stuff, another drop in sales, etc, etc, until they possibly don't both with a PC version at all. Now, some of these games get pretty bad and/or unneeded PC ports anyway, but there could be some sort of ripple effect that makes other companies more wary.

Cool, if someone really wants to pirate it they can also wait a "short" time.

Hopefully those poor PC sales will make the reconsider even wasting time making a PC version.

Yes, hopefully. Time saved by not making a PC version can be used to make upcoming console releases and DLC that much better. Keep saying the PC piracy is just an excuse for bad developers and watch developers eventually abandon the platform.

You are preaching up the wrong tree. Shitty games receive poor sales and so does shitty ports. They are bringing it on it themselves in most cases. Now by bringing a shitty game to a console, the sale will automatically triple (made up number) because that's where all the brainless people with a lot of money are.

Just look at Gears of War and Halo. I doubt they'd received the same praise if released on PC first - why? Because developers have decided to become dumber and dumber in order to give the console guys their solid turd made out of refined gold. Then they decide to polish it up and release it to PC but the turd is, surprisingly, still a turd.

Uh, Halo was a success on the PC from everything I have heard.

So on the PC, bad games get bad sales and they "bring it on themselves," but on the consoles bad games get great sales? Am I reading your post correctly?

Because there's no piracy on consoles and the torrent sites do not have any games for 360 and nobody downloads them, and especially not more people than the ones downloading PC games, right?
