Evening Reading

by Steve Gibson, Dec 31, 2008 6:00pm PST

New Years! I think 2009 is looking to be one of the most interesting years all around

the world and here at Shacknews. I expect big things!

  • Zune players

  • Bears in games
  • New views of

    href="http://blogs.abcnews.com/scienceandsociety/2008/12/music-of-the-sp.html">Jupiter

  • 2008 is a bit

    longer

As for the the videogame news around these parts:

  • The Year Ahead: PC Gaming in 2009

    href="http://www.shacknews.com/featuredarticle.x?id=1062">part1 and

    href="http://www.shacknews.com/laryn.x?story=56567">part2

  • God caused the Take-Two stock drop
  • Ultima creator pondering more

    fantasy

  • Demon's Souls trailer
  • The devolution of Sega commercials
  • Sony paid to help make the Xbox on

    accident

Lastly, I took a look at the achievement list in GTA 4 last night and was really kinda

bummed. Really shouldnt achievements be at least half given out to milestones reached

during trying to beat the game? Yeah hunting down 50 stunts is fun and all but being able

to beat the game and only get like 200 points is just odd. My life will remain empty.

Sigh.
