Evening Reading

As we near the end of the year it feels like a good time to reflect and ponder on our latest journey around the sun. I am pretty sure the world is still crazy, but at least there was a good supply of awesome being created here! We did it!

As for the the videogame news around these parts:

Lastly, I still have near zero interest in that LittleBigPlanet nonsense. Let the record reflect that. I would rather play Spore. Ok maybe not...

Steve Gibson is the cofounder of Shacknews.com. Originally known as sCary's Quakeholio back in 1996, Steve is now President of Gearbox Publishing after selling Shacknews to GameFly in 2009.

So I asked earlier but no one replied. Maybe no one is a customer of TekSavvy. But if you are, let me know what you think about the service and so called unlimited data transfer. Is it really unlimited? Inquiring minds would like to know!

TekSavvy is handled by Bell and therefore throttled

I'm not interested in traffic shaping for torrent or p2p stuff. My downloads now mainly consist of usenet >:)

Basically I can hit my bandwidth limit for the month with Cogeco in about half a day if I were to continuously download. Obviously this is a problem so I want better options here.

sign up for a business account for $10 more and get unlimited bandwidth with Cogeco

$89/month for 200 gb limit or
              $209.95 /month unlimited

              That's a bit more than the $50 I pay now :(

The only business account with unlimited bandwidth on Cogeco is $210 a month.

yeah its unlimited, but you have to deal with bells throttling. been with them for a year and half, very good aside from the mess with bell.

i was with them for a couple months before i moved from my place in Mississauga -- perfect service and customer service for sure. bell throttled though -- but not their fault.

I'd switch to Teksavvy from Cogeco but the max speed i can get on DSL is 2.8M too big a drop from the 10M i consistently get on Cogeco.
