Xbox 360 RPG Cry On Cancelled
by Chris Faylor, Dec 29, 2008 2:34pm PSTPublisher AQ Interactive has revealed the cancellation of Cry On. An action-RPG originally announced in 2005, Cry On was to be the third Xbox 360 RPG from Mistwalker, the company formed by Final Fantasty creator Hironobu Sakaguchi.
"AQI decided to cancel the project after analyzing the current market environment and forecasts for the future," the publisher said in a press release, as translated by 1UP. "We deeply apologize for troubling those who were awaiting its release."
No screenshots of Cry On were ever released. Cavia was co-developing the title, and Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu would have handled the music.
Mistwalker and Sakaguchi have previously co-developed two other role-playing games for the Xbox 360: Artoon's Blue Dragon and Feelplus' Lost Odyssey.
