LittleBigPlanet Gets Metal Gear Solid Level Pack, Paintball Gun Next Week
by Chris Faylor, Dec 19, 2008 9:14am PSTSony has announced that Media Molecule's adorable physics-based platformer LittleBigPlanet (PS3) will next week gain the long-awaited variety of downloadable outfits and levels inspired by Kojima Productions' stealth-action series Metal Gear Solid.
No price was named for the Metal Gear Solid Level Pack, which features 5 new story levels, 1 challenge level, 12 new trophies, and a variety of Metal Gear Solid-themed level parts and stickers along with an exclusive Gurlokovich Soldier outfit.
A new weapon, the Paintinator, is also included in the level pack. However, those who don't buy the pack will still be able to experience it, either by joining an online host that's playing it, or by playing any of the user-made levels that include its content.
"Now you won't be able to keep any objects [you earn playing the Metal Gear Solid levels online if you don't own the pack], but you can have tons of fun just playing," SCEA marketing manager Mark Valledor explained on the official PlayStation.Blog.
Meanwhile, the costume pack includes Solid Snake, Raiden, Meryl and Screaming Mantis outfits, which can be bought together for $5.99 or separately for $1.99.
Both the Metal Gear Solid Costume Pack and Metal Gear Solid Level Pack will be available through the online PlayStation Store beginning Tuesday, December 23.

They should give it for free like PC gaming devs has done throughout the years. It adds value and longevity to the game and encourages more people more to buy it.

The only console game I know of this generation that's added a lot of content for free was Battlefield Bad Company, an awesome multiplayer game (single player is mediocre but who cares)
