Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Breaks Sales Records, Headlines

Capcom has announced that the downloadable port of Super Street Fighter II Turbo has broken several sales records for downloadable games, with over 250,000 downloads recorded to date.

The fighter has so far broken one-day and one-week sales records, and is near to eclipsing the one-month high. Capcom claims the title is on track to become the best-selling downloadable title ever.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix sells for $15 on both the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

I really wish I didn't suck so bad at this game. I used to be able to tear through arcade mode but now it takes me 3-4 tries per stage on medium.

I really wish I hadn't spent money on this :(

It just doesn't feel the same after more than a decade of (IMO) improvements in the genre.

Right, have to ask, how the hell do you perform super moves?

I follow what it says in the moves list and I cant get a single one going, not even button mashing gets one going.

Hmm, Im going to go ahead and assume that (as usual) seing as no steam numbers have been released that record of theirs actually.. isn't. There is no way that no steam games have broke past the million.

This is how you take a classic game and bring it up to today's visuals. No going "3D" or all this bullshit they did with Contra. Ruining a classic is what most developers do. Now let's get HD versions of:

Contra
Punch Out
Mortal Kombat II
Metroid
NHL 95
NBA Jam: Tournament Edition
Phantasy Star II

I can make this a LONG LONG List... We need another "Working Designs" type of company for the new age.

Good for them. I bought it for the nostalgia, though I also admit it just isn't as fun as I remember probably due to general age. Still fun and worth the $15.

This record won't stand. DLC is only going to become more popular. It will be broken next year, then that record will be broken the following year...
