Sony Comments on PlayStation Home Problems

Connection issues have plagued users of the PlayStation Home open beta since its release yesterday, with many being unable to use the software due to "overwhelming demand."

Now Sony communications director Patrick Seybold has acknowledged the problems in a blog post, and says that Sony is working on solutions:

We are aware that some people may be experiencing difficulty in accessing the PlayStation Home beta at present. This is due to overwhelming demand for the service as people access Home for the very first time since it became Open Beta and appeared on the XMB.
While we prepare solutions to ease the problem, you may continue to experience difficulties accessing Home. We kindly ask for your patience as we work to meet the incredible demand for this revolutionary service.

I really like the idea of this service. Once it expands, it'll be pretty great. Was bowling last night with some really cool people, and from what I've seen so far, there are a lot fewer 14 year old retards than on XBL.

I still don't see the point. My God, they've wasted so much money and development resources on some piece of shit SIMS spinoff interface that is utterly and completely worthless.

Sony - It's a GAME CONSOLE. Fucking IMPROVE GAMING ON YOUR GAME CONSOLE.

People beg Sony for all kinds of improvements. Bring back backwards compatibility, fix some of the display bugs, make better games, etc..etc. What do they do? Waste four years developing this piece of shit that NOBODY in their right mind ever asked for or wanted.

How about fixing the Slooooww ass downloads on the PS.S first before adding crap that only people who bathe in KFC sinks would want. It took you idiots forever just to add bookmarks to the blue-ray playback, because everyone loves going through the menu just to pick-up where you left off. Daaahh, I'ma CEeeOoohh.....waterboy. Well Home actually worked perfect for me on the night it came out, I checked out bowling, pool, the arcade machines, chess, the dance club area, the movie theater, my apartment, etc. All of it worked without a hitch. Unless Sony keeps adding compelling reasons to use Home however (such as a SOCOM room to join matches maybe?) I can see it getting boring after a while though other than just to check in once in a while to see what's changed.

After finally connecting and roaming around, I can honestly say that The Sims is a better game....

.... and I fucking HATE The Sims...

Sony if this is the result of a four year development.. beta or not... more things to come or not... this service is dumb.

I'd rather pay 50-60 bucks for something worthwhile than having a virtually 'free' service where my money gets sucked at $0.50-5 dollars at a time.

If this is truly Sony's answer to XBL then....
