BioWare has released a short CG trailer for Dragon Age: Origins, the upcoming RPG inspired by the original Baldur's Gate series.

Apparently this video has something to do with "The Grey Wardens," which are "elite and feared warriors whose sole purpose in life is to end the Blight that has brought a curse upon the land." Intense.

Dragon Age: Origins is hitting the PC next year, and consoles sometime after that.

I feel this way about their other work in progress in the MMO genre. This. This looks like a winner.

I could not be anymore disinterested in this game, and I am its target demographic.

They keep showing off generic fantasy videos that really do nothing to make it look unique or worth trying.

Yeah. I'm hoping that they have a twist or two in store for us.

Exactly this. There's been nothing novel or interesting shown about this game so far, other than GENERIC FANTASY SETTING #4

        I know.

They claim that it's like a modern Baldur's Gate 2, but I'm just not seeing that at all.

BG was all about its story, I'm not sure how that can be conveyed in a promo trailer.

For DA:O I've decided to be cautiously optimistic. I didn't like JE (combat was too easy, not many hidden extra things to find, poor story with obvious twists that wasted the otherwise great setting) and I thought the campaigns for NWN had weak stories (the best being HotU which was a dungeon crawl). I understand they're releasing mod tools for DA:O so even if the main game sucks I'm sure there'll be great mods; Bioware attracts great communities.

How don't you know, this is there remake of baldur's gate type of game. Well that's what they are selling it off as I'm sure they will attempt to make it like baldur's gate, but games now a days have next to no content. Look at Mass Effect had like no content in it, sure it was long but you went from planet to planet doing the exact same thing over and over again. There was no cool missions and puzzles like in Baldur's Gate. I'm still going to get this because I love Bio, but I mean I think it will be great it'll just be short.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt as they have not released any steaming shitpiles as of yet. If Jade Empire is considered your worst game then you are doing something right.
