X-Blades Screenshots: Fan Service

11
To be honest, I didn't think that there was much of X-Blades left to see. I mean, we've seen just about every conceivable angle of the scantily clad protagonist Ayumi.

But have you ever seen her facing the camera while looking away? See how distracted she is? She has better things to do, like saving the world from evil while fulfilling your every command, which is probably less creepy than it sounds. It may even be fun! Expect the Gaijin-developed action game to hit PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this winter.

I absolutely guarantee you that the character design was greatly influenced by some producer or manager who thought he knew what players wanted.

Sadly there are some gamers out there who will gladly fap to this game.

Do you look for a deep meaning in videogames?

where did i say that. I am just talking about how absurd the main character looks. It looks like some producer saw (jacked off to) some old Slayers episodes and proclaimed that he knew what anime chicks should look like and proceeded to make some poor character artist's life a living hell by getting him to make all sorts of ridiculous design decisions on the character.

One design is as good as the other. There is no value in design, but to please the customer.

Ok. You think it doesn't fit to the current Zeitgeist.

Oh i get it. No, I don't think it has the correct synergy to match the current paradigm that todays youth culture will adapt.

what, why? in case you are new to the shack, don't take everything people post seriously. I do happen to feel strongly about design in video games, but don't take it personally, unless, you know, you actually worked on the character.

I just wonder why people so strongly hate that sort of sexy bitch character design. If you don't like it, why not just move on? Not everything is for everyone.

I am all for 'sexy bitch' when done right. Heavenly Sword and Tomb Raider both did 'sexy bitch' pretty well.

But this is just some deviantart overly-tanned anime wannabe wearing a thong and bikini, with some pseudo-final fantasy bling thrown in for good measure.
Get rid of the generic tribal tattoos, look into putting some asymmetrical design elements in her clothing, and do something a little more creative with the butt area instead of a thong.

hats off to you if you dig this sort of design
almost every screenshot shows her from the front, as if they think that her tits crotch and ass are going to be the main selling point of the game, so more power to them if it works.

Ugggh. The character design is SO AWFUL.

It's like she's an anime Barbie doll.
