Relic Releases New Dawn of War 2 Screenshots, Video

Relic has passed out some more media of its upcoming action-RTS Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, showing off the Space Marines squad that players will manage in the single-player campaign.

The PC sequel is still set for an early 2009 release.

I absolutely love the move to no base building - I am curious about how that will work for Multi. I'm hoping you get to use some kinds of point list to pick and choose your units. But not the stupid way it was done in Mark of Chaos.

The only regret I have is Relic's need to only have one single player campaign. I know they think they can do a better job with by just focusing on the Space Marines, but I really think this would be a chance to show of their new approach to RTS working with many different armies.

Also pumped about Tyranids.

So what about Skirmish mode? Will it have base building like the multiplayer?

For me the change of gamplay is not a problem. Relic campaigns have basically been Skirmish mode + cut scenes. So if I want to build up and mow down AI I'm hoping thats in the Skirmish mode.

God, this looks gorgeous.

DOW was one of the finest RTS games I've ever played. Half and half between a brilliant and genuinely engrossing IP, and an intense, fun and fast paced gameplay.

Not that good at rts' but love playing dawn of war + expansions (and company of heroes), so this, made by same guys shouldn't disapoint, will be intresting to see how rts with dont-need-to-make-buildings is gonna play out, definitly looking forward to this (specially since starting to get more intrest in Warhammer with Warhammer 40k dawn of war & WAR

Ick, this tastes like Codename Panzers.

While I do admire the whole drop in with your units and this is what you have approach, alah Mechcommander and Mechwarrior, no other game designed in that manner has come out right besides those.
