I dislike that content is now being held back from games, so they can make a full, complete game $10 more in the long run. I don't fall for the trap, but it's a silly business. Perhaps some of these devs may realize that their games will get better reviews (and thus more sales) if they pack more content in.

They can't even be bothered to patch all the bugs before they release a game these days, I doubt they are holding back content

LOL! I thought the argument vs patches was that pc's needed them because of all the different configurations. Consoles having patches is due to devs/publishers caring more about money than putting out the most polished product possible.

right, because everyone knows devs/pubs get rich off of patches. </sarcasm>

You ever think maybe it's because devs care about their games and their users? Doesn't a patch then give you the most polished product possible, and for free?

When a patch comes out less than a week after the game's been released(and many coming out BEFORE the game has even hit the shelves) it tells me that the game testing and QA wasn't very strenuous. Certainly not as strenuous as it would've been if they didn't have the ablity to correct it after the fact.

My point was that patches used to be considered a necessary evil for pc gamers because of their platform's varying configurations. Consoles being standardized shouldn't have a need for as many patches and yet we're seeing just as many patches for console games as we see for pc games.

I think that's only an issue if you feel that the released game wasn't full and complete and that this mission and some more skins completes it.
