Guitar Hero 5, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, New Tony Hawk Controller Confirmed by Activision
by Nick Breckon, Dec 03, 2008 1:47pm PSTDetails on many of Activision Blizzard's upcoming titles were revealed today during a joint event with in-game advertiser Massive Inc.
According to MTV, Call of Duty 6 is now known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and is slated to arrive in fall 2009. As previously revealed, series creator and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare veteran Infinity Ward will return for the latest entry.
Furthermore, an in-game shot of Guitar Hero 5 was shown in a demonstration of Massive's in-game advertising strategy for Activision, showing a "Burger King ad to the right of the note highway." Past Guitar Hero games have used similar in-game ads.
Activision also confirmed rumors that the next Tony Hawk title will be played using some type of peripheral rather than with a controller. The skateboarding game will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and DS in October.
An original James Bond racing title from Project Gotham Racing developer Bizarre Creations was also announced, and is set to debut next September. Bizarre is also working on an original racing title, described by Activision as "Mario Karts meets Forza."

Call of Duty (yay)
Call of Duty: United Offensive (PC expansion)
Call of Duty: Finest Hour (console version by Spark)
Call of Duty 2 (True IW sequel)
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One (console version by Treyarch, followup to Finest Hour and nothing to do with COD2 itself)
Call of Duty 3 (console version by Treyarch, built off Big Red One)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (successor to COD2 by IW)
Glad to see they've straightened it out with World at War and now Modern Combat.

Where are the new games? I want to see something besides mirrors edge that's actually new. As much as I disliked the actual game, I loved that someone tried something different. I.E. it's not never ending game bazillion.
I love guitar hero and call of duty as much as the next guy, but please; something new would be nice.

1. Be more or as innovative as COD4.
2. Run well on my future pc!!! COD4 worked gr8 on my current rig but COD5 dragged it down to unplayable form even though its inferior graphically!
Anyway it's great to see Infinity Ward back on board. They can toss the Treyarch guys out the window for all I care!

Call of Duty World at War wasn't Call of Duty 5.
Therefore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn't Call of Duty 6 or the sixth Call of Duty.

Seriously, every single display I've seen in stores has broken cymbals, and mine broke after only about 5-7 sessions.
