The Witcher Console Trailer and Screenshots Arrive

Fresh off the official announcement of The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf for PS3 and Xbox 360, developer CD Projekt RED and publisher Atari have released the first media.

Billed as the "ultimate console RPG," the console editions of the once PC-only fantasy RPG have been "completely rebuilt pixel by pixel," complete with a new engine and a more action-centric combat system. The console adaptations arrive in fall 2009.

screenshots don't look much different than the PC version, i'm imagining a texture pack overhaul and maybe... they made the HDR lighting work? models look the same though...

I always thought to myself as I played through this game 'I can't beleive they have not made a console edition yet'. To those that never played this game, I'm a hardcore FPS fanboy, yet this game was nothing short of AMAZING. I played for hours and hours till I got to the end, and even then it leaves you wanting more. I won't bother with a console edition, but I am waiting for the Witcher2;)

Now the rest of the world can play one of the greatest games I for one ever played. Unless of coarse they screw it up converting it to console. The Striga intro FMV in the opening of the PC version smokes the one here, imo. Kinda gay with Gerald half nude dancing about like that, all the more reason to worry about the console version not hitting the mark.

I looooove the Witcher, but they could have done better than show a video of Geralt LARPing by a fireplace. I mean it was like Star Wars kid but with actual sword-fu.
