Dragon Age Screenshots: Dark Spiders

Three new screenshots of Dragon Age: Origins have been provided by developer BioWare, showcasing some of the game's enemies. At least, I hope they're enemies. No offense Giant Spiders, but I'd much rather kill you than be friends. It'd be ...awkward.

The fantasy-RPG hits PC early next year, followed by a console release later on.

Why did they release such awful screen shots? Surely the only reason to show off screenshots at this stage is to promote the game but these do the complete opposite. All badly lit and badly textured. The gameplay videos looked better than this.

Why does this game looks.. wrong? It looks like a game from the age when Bumpmapping was an option you checked in the settings to get some last minute tacked-on effect.

This game does not take screenshots well for some reason. It looks better in motion but not much better. This could be Bioware's first flop.

I'm sure it will be blamed on the EA buyout but this game has been in development for a long time.

Since the first ever screens were shown, I've had this feeling that this game isn't going to sell well. Visually generic and probably a system hog.

I hope it does, but I'm not holding my breath.
