Update: THQ has confirmed with Shacknews that the PlayStation 3 version of Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon has indeed been cancelled, citing "development issues." Now an Xbox 360 exclusive, Furon ships to North American retailers on December 1.

It's the second PlayStation-related cancellation for the series in the past year, as the PlayStation 2 version of Locomotive Games' Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed was cancelled back in January. The Wii version was then released in February.

Original: Publisher THQ has released a new trailer for Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon, confirming that Sandblast's final game will arrive next week.

Though Furon was originally announced for both PS3 and Xbox 360, the below trailer only references the Xbox 360 version, with no mention of the PS3 on the game's site.

Furthermore, GameStop is no longer listing the PlayStation 3 version. While Amazon.com shows December 3 release for the PlayStation 3 version, that page also claims the retailer doesn't know "when or if this item will be back in stock," a warning that does not typically appear for products that have a solid release date.

Shacknews is checking with THQ to determine the fate of the PlayStation 3 version.

This trailer looks a little better than the last one, which was so skippy and so slow I thought they had forgotten to hit the turbo button on their 360.

Here's to hoping the old one was still heavily in development and the final product plays well.
