Far Cry 2 DLC Priced: Maps, Weapons to Cost $10

Ubisoft has filled in the price point for the upcoming Far Cry 2 "Fortune's Pack" downloadable content. The collection of multiplayer maps, weapons and vehicles will sell for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

The pack is expected to be released before December on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with tomorrow's PSN update marking the last opportunity to meet that deadline. There is still no word yet on whether the content will see a PC release.

To refresh your memory, the Fortune's Pack DLC will contain the following:

Three brand-new weapons
- Silenced shotgun
- Sawed-off shotgun
- Crossbow
Two new vehicles
Unimog
Quad

Four new exciting maps
1. Cheap Labor
2. Last Resort
3. Lake Smear
4. Fort Fury
New single-player weapons and vehicles also available in multiplayer

Good lord, all these negative comments... Yes, the game takes a while to get into. If you wanted blowjobs within the first five minutes of play, you should probably play CoD4 instead.

putting a price on downloadable maps just splits up the multiplayer player community. Only thing that seems to work is putting in expansion guns. Players will buy those so they can own the guys without them. As long as they make the weapons droppable so the other players that didn't buy them can pick them up it usually works out okay.

As much as I like this game, I can't see myself buying this if it comes to PC. 12 Brand New Weapons? maybe. 3? no. And the vehicles don't interest me at all...One isn't armed, and the other looks quite un-maneuverable...
$10 for a third SP map and 2 vehicles, and 3 weapons....maybe.

I feel like such an old goat, the prospect of having to pay for a few multiplayer maps or a weapon or two is so alien to me given how things were in the past, I guess its how it is now. But surely you end up with half a community that pays and half that doesnt, which seperates your mutliplayer players?

If this game was multiplayer-centric then it makes sense, but the MP is not the strongest part of the game so $10 for new MP maps, and guns and vehicles that will probably only be used in MP is a bit much. If this was Battlefield Bad Company it would be worth it, but with a game that has user made maps it just does not make sense to battle free maps with a high price point.
