Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor Trailer Gets Tactical

Publisher THQ has deployed a trailer for Tales of Valor, the latest standalone expansion in the Company of Heroes series of strategy games. In the trailer players are given a peek at the new tactical control they will have over their units.

Tales of Valor plays nicely by being fully compatible with the original Company of Heroes and the previous Opposing Fronts expansion, and is expected in spring of next year.

I love COH and I love the Tiger tank and I love what they are trying to do by making a campaign around an elite tank crew that was feared on the battlefield. But really?! How many times do you think a Tiger made a kill at point-blank range? And there were several in this video. These tank battles took place at huge distances and while I love COH, I just can't help but laugh when I watched the Tiger making kills and blowing up units at point-blank range.

Love COH but I'm not excited about this at all. I mean how is this commanding tank business going to have any effect on MP? who cares about SP.

Need an easter front or africa expansion or COH2.. this is just meh.

Reminds me of Soldiers: Heroes of World War II and Faces of War. Looks like they're taking lessons from Best Way's "direct control" feature as well. Very cool. I'll have to give it a spin.
