Spielberg's LMNO Not Cancelled, Says EA

Rumors that the EA's decision to axe 6% of its workforce have resulted in the cancellation of Steven Spielberg's emotional action game LMNO are completely false, the company has informed Shacknews.

"LMNO is in development at EALA under the creative leadership of Doug Church (Creative Director) and Lou Castle (Executive Producer)," the publisher stated. No concrete timeframe has been provided for the release of LMNO.

Part of Steven Spielberg's three-game deal with Electronic Arts, LMNO is a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game in which players take the role of a secret service agent escorting a computer-controlled character. Newsweek's N'Gai Croal described the title as 'North by Northwest' meets 'E.T.'--if E.T. were female, grown up and, um, hot."

The first of Spielberg's collaborations, the physics-based Wii puzzler Boom Blox, hit retailers earlier this year, and was originally codenamed PQRS. No details have emerged on Spielberg and EALA's third project.
