Saints Row 2 PC Pushed to 2009
by Chris Faylor, Oct 30, 2008 8:06am PDTFollowing the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release of Saints Row 2 in September, developer Volition and publisher THQ have confirmed that the PC version of the open-world gangster action game is now slated to arrive on January 5, 2009.
At the time of the console releases, THQ told Shacknews that there was "no official word" as to when the PC version would hit store shelves.
"The PC version was delayed because we wanted to make the highest quality game across all platforms, but it just needed more time," explained Volition community moderator V-Singular, with IGN confirming the validity of his statements.
"The game is a port of the console version from an external company, but that doesn't mean the code can just be copied over, and ship it out. The PC version is still being produced and tested at Volition with support from the design and programming teams as needed. This is in no way a hands-off external port of the game."
He added: "Our goal is to give PC users the same quality product and performance level which you've seen on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, along with all of the review feedback."

HOLY SHIT. CLOSE TO THE SAME QUALITY?
THAT'S GOTTA BE THE NEXT CRYSIS!!!
In my whole lifetime I was dreaming of a PC game that reaches the performance level of console games. But too bad. We live in a world where PCs are as slow as calcs and consoles rape them away.
Seriously.
I absolutely don't care how the game works on consoles, I only care about a simultaneous release on all platforms (or PC version first) and not waiting for an "old delayed game", high quality content in the PC version with no traces of consolish crap.

We don't want another Halo incident, where the controls are just horrible and obviously ported from console with no adjustments. Or pick your own game where this has happened, it is just horrible!
So please, take all the time you want to adjust, tweak and modify the game so it doesn't feel like a port on the PC! :)

If they at least said that the PC version will be better than the console version and have added features then I could well that’s fine.
Do they not realize that GTA4 will out on the PC in Nov... Frick --> http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=72574 noooo more delays for PC games.
I don't understand, are not technically the 360 versions of games created on PC's on the first place?

We don't want the SAME quality, this game runs pretty badly on the 360. We want BETTER quality when we hear that this is being pushed to friggin' '09!
And of course now it's guaranteed to be largely pirated, thereby fulfilling the prediction. I wasn't really interested in the game anyway, but even if I were, I do not patronize companies that treat me like a second class consumer.
