Glitches Force LittleBigPlanet Servers Offline (Updated: Servers Back Online)

Update: Shacknews can confirm that the servers are back online, as of 12:45 PM CDT, allowing LittleBigPlanet residents to play online and grab user-created levels. However, some lag and hitching issues were still present during our brief online playtest.

Original Story: About eight hours after allowing LittleBigPlanet (PS3) owners to hop online, download user-created levels and play with one another, developer Media Molecule pulled the plug to address problematic "glitching issues."

The studio has yet to say when the servers for the adorable physics-based platformer will be back up, with the team telling Kotaku that online functionality will be re-enabled as soon as the issues are sorted out.

You guys complain waaaaayyy too much. Servers have only been up one day. Imagine how many people are trying to get onto the servers based on this games popularity, be patient.

'Glitching issues'?

Are they the same horrible lag issues you would hit in 50% of games in the beta? LBP is amazing, but their network code was just terrible. As soon as anything started to get a little wonky, the entire game just began to freeze and warp everyone around about 30 seconds after their actions. You pretty much have to sit it out or use the PS button to kill the game, the menus dont respond while everything is lagging.

Wow, I tried out Crossover for OSX and i'm simply amazed at how damn near perfect it ran Steam and Civ 4. Awesome stuff, I wish I knew about it earlier.

Some people have made levels with HUGE spinning wheels, which instantly kill them. It then bugs their entire game so they can never respawn back at another level or at their pod.

You basically just constantly respawn out of the hole and die before you hit the ground.

I never experienced glitches, all I experienced was a shitty, slow ass, network, than couldnt seem ever do anything but freeze up and take forever to load.

Don't get me wrong, Im loving LBP, but glitches? The hell?
