Tom Clancy's EndWar Gone Gold, New Trailer

5
With the crowded holiday season in full effect, publisher Ubisoft has announced that the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions of Tom Clancy's EndWar have entered manufacturing, issuing a celebratory trailer in the process.

The Ubisoft Shanghai-developed voice-controlled RTS, which ties into the other Tom Clancy games, will ship to retailers on November 4, with a free downloadable demo currently available for Xbox 360 owners.

No mention was made of the recently-revealed PSP and Nintendo DS versions, which drop the voice-controlled aspect and are being handled by Funatics.

    Anyone here played the demo?

I was trying to play this without speaking. Is there a way to control the soldiers? Using the D-Pad I could select between 3 units (choppers, tanks and ... artillery?) but there didn't seem to be a way to use the soldiers. They just stood there and attacked whatever came close.

How can I select / use them? And how do I move the camera to be from the point of view of the choppers? (Preferrably without speaking.)

pretty sure you can only play with a microphone. pretty much the whole point of the game. i haven't played it yet because of this... i just feel like too much a retard sitting there talking to myself.

I beat the demo just fine without a mic.

I beat it too but didn't know how to change the viewpoint or select the soldiers.

Yeah, you can play without the mic. Think of the bar down at the bottom as a menu. Use the D-pad to scroll through units, and the UI should show you what button does what things - typically, X is to move the camera and A is to attack or capture.

For other orders, hold the right trigger and use the D-pad to choose among your orders.

I played it without the mic and it was pretty good. I tried a few commands after and it didn't work for some reason. There's no explanation in the demo on how to give out commands using the mic, so maybe they didn't include it?

You CAN play the game almost as easily without headset as with the headset. Especially when you have a Command Vehicle which lets you see the whole map. From there it's simply point and click.

Very cool and I'm sure the full game is going to be fantastic.
