Tom Clancy's EndWar Heading to Handhelds

2
Ubisoft Shanghai's voice-controlled strategy game Tom Clancy's EndWar (PC, 360, PS3) is headed to the Nintendo DS and the PSP.

In the translation to handheld form, the game will change formats to turn-based strategy "promising the intensity of real-time conflict," according to Play. Also gone is the voice-command feature of the console and PC versions. Predictably, the DS version will pick up stylus controls.

The Xbox 360 version of Tom Clancy's EndWar now has a demo

The single-player campaign will see the player "taking charge of US, European or Russian forces through three campaigns." Each campaign is touted as having 30 missions, and two-player multiplayer is in the works.

German studio Funatics will be handling both handheld versions, according to the Play report. Funatics has previously developed PC strategy games including the Cultures series. No price or release date was noted for the handheld editions of EndWar.

i haven't been following this game all that much, aside from a psn trailer i watched last night, but curious if anyone can tell me whether this game is supposed to allow the control via the 'old methods' of a controller/keyboard/mouse/etc.

then again i think my 360 came with a headset when i got it, maybe i should see what the fandagled thing is all about.

I tried the demo. The voice control is the best thing about it; it works very well. It supports the controller of course, but if you try the voice commands you will likely continue to use them for most actions.
