The Video Game Release List of 10/19 - 10/25

This week's list is so massive, I don't know where to start. You've got everything from Far Cry 2, Fable II and the PlayStation 3 version of Rock Band 2 to Barbie Horse Adventures Riding Camp and the curiously-titled Ener-G: Gym Rockets.

If you're looking for a particular system, feel free to skip right to the PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP sections. Should you want to check out any past release lists, scope out our handy archive.

The PlayStation 3 version of Rock Band 2 and Xbox 360 Special Edition bundle will be on shelves Sunday, October 19. Barring any unforeseen delays, everything else should be at North American retailers by Wednesday, October 22.

So how are you supposed to get Far Cry 2 if you live in Europe? It won't be on Steam and it won't be on direct2drive. Sure you could go buy it at a retailer if you really want it, but I'd much rather have a digital delivery.

I will probably go with Far Cry 2 over Fable II due to the multiplayer. I would like to at least give it a shot before other games strip the player base away next month. Fable II can wait a while before I get to it.

When are these asshole publishers, yes the same ones that put restrictvie DRM in their games under the excuse that it prevents piracy lol, going to realize that it's a bad idea to release ALL of their AAA titles at the same time? Especially in a bad economy which will catch up to this industry in due time. I know I'm cutting back just to take extra precautions, and I'm sure many other people are as well.

In other years, I'd be buying about 3 games up there in one week, and pick and choose which ones to play here and there but this just doesn't make sense anymore. With Fallout 3 coming next week, and LBP, I'm now going to rent Dead Space and maybe buy Far Cry 2, maybe. Fable 2 is off my radar, I'm already playing NWN2 , finishing it up, so I'm not going to start another and then have Fallout 3 to play. Maybe next year for Fable 2? I'm just not that excited for it. Even still, thank whoever that Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2 aren't coming out anytime soon, or else I wouldn't even pay attention to most of this garbage.
