Yeah, Geddy Lee has a grating voice at times, but there's no disputing that instrumentally and lyrically, Rush has been one of the best fucking bands of my generation. Awesome talent!!

Dream Theater is another one of those musician loved bands. They sounded great but I wish the leader singer wouldn't sing. The music is incredable, but the gothic imagery and the dudes voice bug the hell out of me.

Ok my last post, but YES Rush and Kiss fans get along fine. I am perplexed at your animosity towards this whole Rush/Kiss thing pfeen. All us old fart Kiss fans agree that Rush kicks ass, Geddy Lee is a bit hard on the ears sometimes, Kiss, Van Halen, Nugent, Boston, et.al. just totally kick ass, and the yelling and angst-ridden shit that the Limp Bizkit-like dickheads put out today is just plain shit. Still, who gives a crap. I got Kiss tickets, 5th row, tomorrow nite, Gene Simmons, its gonna fucking rock. Goodnight! SEE YOU NEXT TOUR ! heh

So, since Rush opened for KISS, does that mean KISS owns them?

P.S. Funniest opening band situation ever: Public Enemy opened for U2 in Dallas back in ~92 or so. Public Enemy did a big "down with the white man" thing in front of about 80,000 red-necks ... hilarious.

Agreed. I am shocked and amazed how peoples taste in music changes over the years. Nirvana are a bunch of no talents. Shit like Rage Against the Machine, and Korn and all that. Maybe I am becoming an old fart but jesus h. christ that shit sucks. Kiss music is not Mozart, but there are melodies and rhythms and such. Same with Rush, I tend to agree that Geddy Lee the singer will make you get a migrane, but their musical ability (both the guitarist and the drummer) is extraordinary. Shit like Limp Bizkit just makes me want to vomit on my mp3.. er CD player.

Neil Peart is considered one of the best drummers in the business. He and the drummer from Primus trade off "drummer of the year" awards all the time.

I agree, I dont care for RUSH but there is no doubt the guys have talent. BTW, KISS was/is a 3-chord band. Always were and always will be. I think that Rage are pretty good, I liked Nirvana ok, most of those type groups sounded the same. 3/4 of the shit out now sucks to me but there are some talented people out there. And I didnt mean that since KISS is a 3-chord band they arent enjoyable. ACDC is a 3-chord band too but I love them( at least up till the Dorty Deeds album, they've been kiddie music since then). You gotta remember that all the talent in he world doesnt make your music enjoyable. RUSH seems to moslty attract musucians as their fans, all the ones I know adore RUSH. TOTO was a bunch of very talented guys but I couldnt stand them, no matter how good they were with their instruments.

I agree with the statement that "Kiss is great in a "campy pre-goth rock band" kind of way, but they're hardly good musicians." Totally agree.

But as a musician/guitarist myself for the past 24 years, I can assure you, that all the members of Rush are extraordinary and I do mean AWESOMELY extraordinary musicians.

I'm not sure where you heard the Kiss show was a rip, but of all the fan postings on the newsgroups and from EVERY reviewer, they have all said it was fucking loud, explosions out the ass, and the boys kicked some ass. So go figure. It's just that they were real popular (1976) when I was younger and they were a musical influence on me. Kind of like Ricky Martin is to you pudpullers today. OLE OLE OLE, livin la vida loca. shake it. Badmouth em all you want but they make today's bands look like amateurs.
