No Team Fortress 2 Updates Until Next Year

"Well, it won't be this year," said Lombardi when asked about the next update. "But we're going to keep evolving TF2. Once Left 4 Dead wraps, you'll hear us clamoring more about [the next TF2 update]."
Lombardi made the statement after speaking on the impending release of Left 4 Dead (PC, 360), which saw contributions from numerous Team Fortress 2 team members as development of the cooperative zombie-killing shooter entered the final stages.
Since TF2's arrival last year, Valve has provided numerous free updates to owners of the PC version, adding new modes and maps along with class-specific achievements and unlockables for the Medic, Pyro and Heavy classes. The studio has pledged that all of the title's nine classes will eventually be updated with new weaponry.
The marketing VP also reiterated that bringing the existing Team Fortress 2 updates to Xbox 360 is "definitely in the plan," though no timeline was offered as to its release.

first they make us wait every 2 months for one character update...now I have to wait until NEXT year!!?!?! That's a bunch of BS...
and for the delay, ya Im NOT going to be purchasing LFD, since they left us TF2 players hanging...
WHY didnt they just update all of them at once!! Would have avoided situations such as delays...bunch of BS
way to let us down..YET AGAIN Steam!

The game is too constricted and forced. It feels as if your playing a singleplayer game, where valve want you to always play in the way they designed the game to be played. And thats fine for a SP game, but in MP you play the same few maps repeatedly, and the 'pacing' just gets boring.

And the game is not always the same. The element that changes every time is the players. You could have a really solid team that can hold a point strong, or you could have a pathetic team that gets walked over. Either way, it changes the game every time.

The game could also use an update. There are a fair amount of bugs from the Heavy patch that haven't been addressed - and Badwater Basin needs a revamped explosion. I want a real boom, god damnit!
