THQ Picks Up 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand?

According to this entry in Australia's Classification Database, 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand (PS3, X360) has been picked up by publisher THQ.

The third person action game from Swordfish Studios was one of several projects dropped by Activision Blizzard following the Activision - Vivendi Games merger.

50 Cent: Blood in Sand was classified October 10, obtaining a MA 15+ rating for "strong violence and coarse language, sexual and drug references."

The original Fiddy cent game was a disaster but sold well because people who are into rap have no discriminatory abilities I guess, and even though this one is supposedly way way better, I just can't get over the idea of a rapper shooting up the middle east. I mean, it's a rapper. It's a guy who's job it is to talk tough to a beat. It doesn't mean he is tough, just that he desperately wants to be perceived as tough.

I hope the other titles Axedivision cut will start showing up soon. Like Brutal Legend and Ghost busters. Also like to see Team 17's Leisure Suit Larry game, even though it does look horrible.

Activision feels like the EA of old to me lately. Of course now one's worried about this game being axed but they also got rid of the World in Conflict developers, it seems like everything but big franchises are on the chopping block. This is going to backfire in a major way down the line.
