And a fine morning to you too.

Got my ridiculous upgraded internet today. Faster options were available (though still no fiber a month after they opened the street), but going from my previous speed (already 24mbps) to this actually resulted in paying less money so that was hard to resist.

Heading into the weekend, I don't have anything new to play. So I'll probably end up finishing up Max Payne 2, while preparing my wallet for the second half of October with games like Fable 2, Dead Space and Fallout 3 coming out. I'll probably end up getting Fable 2 after finishing Fallout 3 though, two RPGs at the same time is probably a bit overkill.

Shack! Help me out!

I am looking for a video that was posted here a couple of months ago. It features two criminaly insane people, who do a downhill scate of some insane country road somewhere, that is all downhill for 8 miles or something like that.

It was two guys dressed all in white. On longboards. They did about 8 crazy-ass camera hand-offs on each trip, while dodging trafic and overtakin pickup trucks. It is the most edge-off-your-seat balls-out full-on disregard of human life video I have ever seen. Insane and awesome at the same time.

Anyway. Anyone remember it? Anyone got the link? I thínk it was on Vimeo, but I haven't been able to find it.

RROD Replacement Woes:

So my 360 RROD'd and I've already gotten my new one, but when I go to play Braid it seems everything has been reset and it still thinks my game is in trial mode. Is there a trick to this? I assume that deleting and then downloading again will fix the trial mode, but is there anyway to get my progress back? Or does deleting not affect the game progress and I'll be fine when the trial is updated to full?

If a genie appeared in front of you and told you that he could let you play the finished version of any future game (announced or not of course) for two hours what would you pick?

You're allowed to pick anything you can think of, but if the game you name never gets made your wish fizzles, so it would be unwise to wish for "Quake 10" because you have no idea if that'll ever happen. In this case "Quake 5" would be a safer wish.

I think I would probably go with Max Payne 3 or Half Life 3.

COOPERATIVE GAMES

In this thread we recommend cooperative games. They can range from well-known to obscure, but please check to see if someone already posted what you are going to and just reply to their subthread if you agree or want to add more information.

The idea here is for coop lovers to be able to browse the thread for new games to play or simply to be reminded of a fun old coop experience.

The games can be as old or as new or as big or as small as you want! I am sure there are some SNES era coop games I missed!

Please post a mini-review along with the game! :) I'll start with some recent ones.

Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360, PC, 2 players) - The game is pretty fun solo, but really shines in coop. Overall a good solid cover-based shooter where you will really benefit from cooperating to flank your enemies. Playing through it with my brother split screen provided us with lots of opportunity to cooperate.

Schizoid (Xbox 360 Arcade, 2 players) - This XBLA game was advertised as "the most coop game ever" and they're not far off with that description. It's played in a top-down POV and the only thing each player does is move; none of the buttons do anything. The idea is each player is a different color and can only kill the guys of his color by running in to them. The level design is creative and the higher levels can be fiendishly difficult, which should be great for people who love games that require cooperative coordination to win.

Goal Line Blitz?

Good game by the Lampshades the other day. I think we'll have a good game today, too. Did you know our pass defense leads the league in fewest yards allowed? Yay!

So...what are our plans for next season? We have ~15 people inactive (out of about 40). That's not going to work if we want to stay competitive. It's not that I want to leave the Lampshades, just a bit frustrated with the inactivity (not that I don't understand why it's happening).

I think I'd like to join the Cleveland Timelords, who even though they have had some rough seasons and barely have a winning record this season only have 1 inactive: http://goallineblitz.com/game/roster.pl?team_id=1172

As you see their depth chart is pretty thin and includes some CPUs, so I would guess that they would welcome an infusion of new high level players that want to stay active.

With the new 'gutting' rules team cash gets reset when sold, so it seems it would be OK to give ourselves some big bonuses for equipment (current and future). So if we're going to be leaving the team we might as well all get level 32 equipment as soon as possible to help us this season.

Little Big Planet might be the best game in years. Its amazing how much fun this game is and could possibly end up being. I played a ton of user created games today that were all pretty fun. Can't wait to see what people can come up with using more time.
