Halo Wars Gains Flood, Screenshots Get Basic
by Chris Faylor, Oct 09, 2008 9:29am PDTNew screenshots of Ensemble's Halo-themed Xbox 360 strategy game have arrived, offering a glimpse of an UNSC base and two scenarios from the campaign mode.
In addition to the new shots, developer Ensemble, which will close after the completion of Halo Wars, has clarified that the game is now due out in early 2009, instead of the vague "first half of 2009" estimate that was provided during E3.
The studio also revealed that the game will, as expected, include the Flood, the parasitic blight of the Halo universe, though it is not yet known if the Flood will be playable.

(Especially since this is a prequel).

They made for an interesting mix of combat styles. The Covenant would use tactics and cover and generally be quite sneaky whereas the Flood were absolutely fucking nuts lumps of flesh controlled by parasites that just threw themselves at you.
Watching the fights between Flood and Covenant was always fun as well. Playing on any level of difficulty below Legendary though and the Flood basically overwhelmed the Covenant. However, play on Legendary and the Covenant Elites were fucking unstoppable.

Isnt this set before Halo? So are they just ret-conning the entire storyline?
