First Game with New Xbox Experience Support Arrives Oct. 28, MS Still Mum on New Dashboard's Release
by Chris Faylor, Oct 08, 2008 10:36am PDTWhile Krome's movie-trivia Scene It? Box Office Smash will be the first game to support Xbox Live Avatars when it arrives on October 28, publisher Microsoft is remaining quiet as to when the new Avatar-packing Xbox 360 dashboard update will arrive.
"We have nothing to announce at this time regarding NXE's launch date. Stay tuned!" a Microsoft representative told Shacknews when asked if the game's launch signaled the the impending release of the new dashboard.
The company added: "We are excited that Scene It? Box Office Smash will be the first game to fully integrate with the New Xbox Experience Avatars."
Thus far, Microsoft has only stated that the new dashboard will arrive this fall, with ad listings pointing to a November release. Dubbed the New Xbox Experience, the free software update includes a new interface, Netflix streaming, customizable player Avatars, support for optional game installs, and more.
