by Maarten Goldstein, Mar 27, 2000 11:02am PSTAnother Daikatana update in programmer Noel Stephens's .plan update, although just a small one. He says the programmers are done with the code and unless something really horrible happens, it's all good to go.

Have faith in Romero
Daikatana will come soon
Make bitches it will
Eidos: So the game's almost finished, right?
Noel: Yeah, we just fixed the last bugs, so it's looking real good.
Eidos: We can't get ahold of Romero or anyone else. Is something going on that we should know about?
(The phoneline clicks)
Noel: Uh, no. Everything's fine. Look, can you hold on a sec, I think someone's is calling on the other line--
(Clicking over to the other line...)
Noel: John, dude the publisher's are getting restless! Where are you?
Eidos: You're still talking to Eidos. Do we need to send someone down there to supervise?
Noel: Uh, no. Everything is going real good!
(To be continued...)
Thanks!

"If we were to boycott everything that did bad things to 'humans' then what would we have left?"
What the fuck? Is he implying that kids aren't human? Why on earth is it in quotes? Pardon me if I take an opportunity to piss all over your little "game", Noel.
Uh, no, it's not the same at all. That's a fucking bullshit statement, Noel. Do you think people aren't trying to do something about the problem here in the States? People have written to congress to try and enforce trade sanctions, but the skullfuckers in Congress are probably turned on by the thought of getting it on with some seven-year-old girl against her will, so nothing gets done. The sad fact of the matter is, Thailand's government is completely aware of the situation and turns a blind eye to it. Many pedophiles are willing to spend thousands of dollars in travel accomodations and "procurement fees" while they're in the country, and Thailand could certainly use that money, being shit poor. How do we, normal, decent human beings, send a message to Thailand's government that this shit is wrong? Send them a letter? Call their embassy? THESE PEOPLE ARE COMPLICIT IN THE RAPING OF CHILDREN, do you think they give a fuck what Americans think? The only way you will ever reach these people is by taking away what they value most, and that is our tourism dollars. Money is the only language these fuckers understand. I find it pretty odd that Noel would still plan on going to Thailand despite knowing that he's indirectly supporting a government that turns a blind eye to 200,000 children being forcibly kept in brothels (and I think this kind of industry keeps more than a "few bad apples" employed). Does Thailand have some monopoly on nice beaches? Is there no other country in the world that will make you happy during your vacation? You sound like every other moron who says "OOO OOO, if I could only have that new ferrari, I'd be happy! Well, now that I have it, all I need is that big house, then I'll be happy! Well, now I need xxx..." Why is going to Thailand going to make you any happier than visiting any other non-child raping country? If you have family there, or some other emotional connection, than maybe I can understand, but you seem to have no rationale.
As far as boycotting countries that produce cocaine, what's so bad about that? If it was proven that the government of Colombia was producing cocaine, don't you think there would be, not just boycotts, but UN embargos and trade sanctions?
Fuck, I got a little worked up. I guess I'd just like to say that I hope you feel better after supporting (and therefore turning a blind eye to) child-rapists, Noel. Boycotting something is not the same as turning your back on it. If you travel to Thailand, then who'll be the one who's turning his back on it, huh? Fucker.
Delayed yet again
