Increased Wii, DS Shipments May Not Fill Demand
by Blake Ellison, Oct 02, 2008 9:33am PDTNintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said there will be more DS and Wii units available at retail than last year, but he is unsure whether it will be enough to sate consumer demand.
"We are selling hardware at rates no system [seller] has ever experienced," Fils-Aime added.
Since its launch in November of 2006, the Wii has consistently sold out in American retailers, making the Wii a popular Christmas gift for the third year in a row, counting the upcoming holiday season.
