According to blog TheBitbag, a new PlayStation Underground survey indicates that Sony is exploring the possibility of charging a monthly subscription for the upcoming PlayStation 3 massively multiplayer title MAG: Massive Action Game.

Announced at E3, MAG: Massive Action Game promises 256-player combat within a persistent world. The game is being developed by SOCOM veteran Zipper Interactive.

The survey, reportedly titled "Short Survey. Big New Game," asked "at least 15 questions related to payment plans for the game."

Sony has refused to comment on Bigbag's unverified report.

  • Additionally... this is the intro to the survey
Choose from different private armies to battle for the world's natural resources in an epic tug-of-war.
    • Join a squad made up of other gamers as part of a larger organized battle group.
    • Gain skills in areas such as weapons usage and military tactics and become a specialist within your squad like a sniper, demolitions expert or field medic.
    • Earn the ability to command one or multiple squads where you will assign objectives, create strategies, and deploy resources such as air strikes or reinforcements.
    • Help your character progress and grow, and develop a world status based on your group's wins or losses against the rest of the world.

  • I took the survey the questions ranged from different subscription methods i.e monthly to yearly for different price ranges. With the different subscription methods there were different benefits like a supported clan web page, dedicated servers with options to customize rules, etc. Also other things for customization of your character, a "playing card" which has your stats and is viewable to other players stuff like that. Also they had other payment methods, micro transactions, no monthly/ yearly subscription however if you had a clan and wanted a supported web page the clan members ponied up a couple of buck for a one time fee. All and all the options presented were decent and some of them interesting to see how they turn out. With the options it seem like they were tying to figure out what people were willing to pay for, what they were looking for in this type of game. Defiantly a wait and see after all it's just a survey that did not name the game just that it was some new wammadine MMO/FPS/Action game.
