'300' Director Signs Game Deal With Electronic Arts

Zack Snyder, the director of movies like '300' and the upcoming 'Watchmen', has signed a deal to create three original game properties for Electronic Arts, the company announced today.

Snyder will work with EA's Los Angeles studio, which will develop the games. EA Los Angeles is known for games such as Medal of Honor: Airborne, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and the The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth series.

Under the deal Electronic Arts also has the option to turn the properties into movies, which would be produced by Snyder's Cruel & Unusual Films production company.

"Zack Snyder has a fresh and bold creative style that resonates with our core audience," said EA Games president Frank Gibeau about working with the director.

Electronic Arts has a similar game deal with Steven Spielberg. The first result of that collaboration was this year's Wii puzzle game Boom Blox, also developed at EA Los Angeles.
