Crysis Warhead SDK On the Way

2
When Crysis Warhead released on September 16, it lacked the SDK--the tools needed to make modifications or new levels for Crytek's PC first-person shooter semi-sequel. That issue will soon be rectified, Crytek has announced.

"As most of you will already be aware we have not included our Sandbox Editor or MOD SDK with the disc for Crysis Warhead or Crysis Wars," reads a post from Crytek community manager "Eddy" on the Crymod forums.

"We wanted to make sure that people received the best game play experience in both single and multiplayer, so as such we decided to focus all of our energy and attention in that direction originally," added Eddy.

"We are now working on the Editor and SDK solution for Warhead," continues the post. "We are definitely aware that the community is eager to get this software, and we will provide it as soon as it is complete and available."

too bad all their effort on providing the best gameplay experience still has perfomance issues. I could play Crysis on all high, but any time I see the ice energy shield thing, my game lags so bad...something is wrong with that dumb bubble.

reminds me of Quake 2's software renderer and how it would bog down when you looked through glass. There was an option in the graphics menu called "Stipple Alpha" that would make all the windows look like dotted opaque regions, but it wouldn't be as much of a speed penalty as having true transparency. Then, of course, we all got OpenGL accelerator cards, which had no slowdown when rendering transparent surfaces.

If you have to play Crysis on high, I wouldn't blame the game. It's demanding, it's not an "issue". In like 5 years when we all have Geforce 12's it won't matter.

Sounds like you have either old drivers or a setting conflict in your drivers. Running on a E6750 and a 8800GTS 640mb in WinXP, I've run the game on High and haven't had any issues..

If you are running Vista, right click the shortcut in the games menu and choose DX9.
