Morning Discussion

As Thursday dawns upon us, I still can't believe how many games have hit this month.

Off the top of my head, we've seen Peggle Nights, Spore, The Witcher Enhanced Edition, Crysis Warhead, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Rock Band 2, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, LEGO Batman and Samba de Amigo.

That's not even taking downloadable console games into account--Duke Nukem 3D hit Xbox Live Arcade yesterday, the PlayStation Store receives Wipeout HD later today, and Mega Man 9 arrived via WiiWare Monday, followed by a PS Store release today and an Xbox Live Arcade debut next week.

I don't know where I'm going to find the time (or the money) to play them all, but I'm not complaining. It's been a while since we've had a flood of quality such as this. And hey, are you really going to argue with the LEGO Batman?

Motion is already so hard to deal with on most LCD's, how the hell can you see anything in Wipeout HD?

I don't think it's going to pose much of a problem. I mean you just use static backgrounds since you're moving fast and color palettes that compliment the ships and you'll be fine.

I was hoping it would be on the store this morning so I could play it a bit before work. Either way, it's going to be rad.

I didn't see a demo but there is a 100kB unlock key associated with it, so I'd say yes

This just in: it's pretty good. It seems much harder than the previous games though, or that could simply be the fact that I haven't played one in a few years.

It's not "flashy" but everything looks very clean and it runs very smoothly. It simply feels right.

Also, if you're a trophy whore, there's a lot to keep you busy :<

The Wipeout games have never really been "flashy" despite the kind of techno vibe they give off. FOUR MORE HOURS.

It annoys me. I want to play Wipeout on my 360 with all of my nerd friends. It's a great series that I've always felt hasn't gotten the audience it deserves.
