Wii Shop Channel Update: Mega Man 9, Super Dodge Ball, Vectorman, Plattchen twist 'n' paint

In addition to the promised release of Mega Man 9--also coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 within the next week and a half--today's update to the Wii's online shop brings two retro downloads and a new painting puzzle game.

In Super Dodge Ball, you take control of the USA Dodge Ball team and travel the world in an effort to become the best dodge ballers around. But be careful, as some destinations have surfaces that can affect your footing. Manage the team as you think best, and swap out characters with other players that better fit your playing style. Two players can enjoy a head-to-head game or play a spirited round of Bean Ball, a six-character free-for-all. Three difficulty levels are available (Easy, Medium, and Hard); which one you choose will depend on your skill and courage. Do you have what it takes to lead Team USA to the ultimate prize and win the world championship of dodge ball?

      there was a new one for the gameboy advance, that added super jump-throws... and it was awesome. but why they never made a true successor is beyond me. has to be one of my all-time favorites... gimme some bump-mapping on that around-the-world ball to the face!

      I still play Super Dodge Ball regularly on my NES.
