New European Xbox 360 Price Cut

Following the recent Xbox 360 price cut in North America, Microsoft today announced European price cuts for their console as well.

The Arcade version will go from €199.99 to €179.99 (£129.00), the Pro from €269.99 to €239.99 (£169.99) while the Elite will now sell for €299.99 (£229.99), down from €369.99.

The cuts become effective this Friday.

With the price cut, both the Arcade and Pro SKUs will retail below the Nintendo Wii, which currently sells for 249.99 euros (£179.99).

That's an insane price compared to the other 2 big consoles... It's 10€ less than the Wii ffs. How people manage to ignore the 360 as a valid gaming platform is beyond me.

funny thing is that *still* the 120Gb HD is €199.... that means its cheaper to buy the arcade. <sigh> ..
I might even buy the new pro with 60Gb instead, then I have a whole box and a controller as a spare. BUT WHY ?. Stupid overpriced peripherals.

I really don't see how Sony can't cut the price now. Blu-ray is worth at most $50 more than the pro.
