GameStop: No End in Sight to Wii Shortages
by Blake Ellison, Sep 09, 2008 11:16am PDTVideo game mega-retailer GameStop predicts a third consecutive sold-out holiday season for Nintendo's Wii, despite recent bumps in production.
"I know they're making more, but we're still short like everybody else. I think we'll have a continued shortage this Christmas," CEO Dan DeMatteo told GameDaily.
He added, "I don't see a near-term end in sight for Wii shortages, not unless they really ramp up supply. I think they've ramped it up 20 percent or so, but ... it's still evaporating."
With the Wii Music Dog instrument, shown below, the Shacknews editorial staff finds it hard to imagine the Wii not selling out, ever.
