Harry Potter Game Delayed Alongside Movie

Publisher EA today confirmed that, much like the film it is meant to accompany, the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Price video game has been delayed until next summer.

Both the movie and the game were originally slated to launch this fall. However, studio Warner Bros. recently delayed the film, based on the sixth of J.K. Rowling's seven Harry Potter novels, until next summer due to marketing reasons.

While many expected the game to be postponed alongside, comments from EA and developer EA Bright Light suggested the company was still considering a fall release. Now due out in summer 2009, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will arrive on PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP.

    Fantastic picture, Faylor.

I wonder if this means an extension of development time or just a delayed release. Most film tie-in games could really use an extra nine months in the oven.

Who cares, to play this shit you have to be either mentally retarded or a giant douche...

If you saw the movie -> you know the story line.
If you have played the other HP games -> you know the gameplay sucks.
If you still like it -> you obviously never played any good games so WTF are you doing on this site?!

The Harry Potter games really haven't been that bad, to be honest.

In an odd turnabout, I read the books after playing one of the games.
