King of Fighters '98 Attacks Xbox Live Arcade
by Blake Ellison, Sep 04, 2008 11:19am PDTKing of Fighters '98, the arcade and Neo Geo brawler with a cult following, is coming to the Xbox 360 via the online Xbox Live Arcade service.
The game was recently re-released in Japan as King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match on the PlayStation 2, and that version will be the one headed to XBLA, according to SiliconEra. The newest version of the game sports extra characters and balance changes for competitive players.
The SNK Playmore-developed remake does not have a release date, but it will appear at the Tokyo Game Show in October.

Now, with Fatal Fury Special coming out last year, and now KoF'98, what's the deal with Samurai Shodown II? It was announced last year, but I haven't heard a peep about it. My fear is that SNK has seen a cheaper way to make money by just dumping their ROMs onto the Virtual Console without any added features or functionality. Why pay to develop good online play for XBLA or PSN when people are willing to pay for the same old crap on Virtual Console?
Please people. Vote with your money. Buy this game. Do not buy SNK games on Virtual Console.
