Eurogamer Throws Hat in Expo Ring
by Blake Ellison, Sep 03, 2008 1:40pm PDTEuropean gaming site Eurogamer has decided to join the fray of consumer-oriented trade shows. The Eurogamer Expo, which they've playfully dubbed "E2," will run alongside the London Gaming Festival on October 28 and 29.
The general public will be able to enter the Expo for five hours for a five pound donation to UK video games charity GamesAid.
The expo's line-up looks like a mash-up of games recently seen at the Leipzig Games Convention and the Penny Arcade Expo, with several high-profile games like Mirror's Edge, Street Fighter IV and Fallout 3 on display.
The announcement comes in very close proximity to news that PAX and Games Convention would be expanding to new locations, and rumors that E3 would counter by opening to the public. As such, Eurogamer enters an arena getting more crowded with each passing day.
