Q Entertainment, the studio behind the addictive puzzlers Lumines and Every Extend Extra, has announced that it will bring its rocket-launching stacking puzzle game Meteos to the Xbox 360 as a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade release.

Originally a Nintendo DS game, Meteos has players grouping together stones of the same color on the bottom of the screen and launching those groups off into space.

The Xbox Live Arcade version, now called Meteos Wars, adds head-to-head multiplayer and characters that can be decorated as the player unlocks achievements, according to 1UP.

Meteos Wars does not have an announced price or release date, but it will launch on Xbox Live Arcade Japan in October.

I am unsure of how I feel about this. On one hand, yay Meteos. On the other, no touchscreen?

Indeed. The touch is what makes it playable.

Yeah, with a controller, I don't think you can get that same speed going that Meteos is so awesome at.

On the bright side, I won't be tempted to randomly scribble on the screen now.

Also, only 1 on 1? The game allows up to 4 players at a time, and I see no reason with added capabilities of XBLA to take that higher (though it makes targeting a specific foe a bit higher).

They really should put this on PSN with mouse support. Alert the proper authorities Faylor!

Actually, I'd rather have a PC / Steam port than 360 or PS3 versions. More people + more people with mice than PS3. Lumines is on Steam so it's not a total pipe-dream.

        Get busy bugging them!
