Nintendo: Core Games Coming

35
Following widespread sentiment that Nintendo is neglecting its fans with a lackluster lineup of hardcore games, the company is now saying that those traditional titles are coming--just not anytime soon.

"We have never neglected our core gamers," said Nintendo in the October edition of Edge magazine according to Eurogamer. "We still have developers working on popular core gaming franchises but we need longer to complete these games, approximately two to three years."

"These games are not ready to launch in early 2009 but are being worked on by all development teams," added the company.

After teasing a major hardcore announcement at E3, Nintendo's brief mention of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DS) and a new Pikmin title did little to satisfy fans.

Nintendo has been running damage control ever since, with president Satoru Iwata going so far as to apologize for the disappointing showing.

I own both a 360 and a Wii, and the Wii never really gets turned on :( it's kind of a shame, really.

Last game I played on Wii was Super Paper Mario, excellent game but games I generally play swamped most of my time and I barely finished that game even though it was pretty short.

PC and Wii is the ideal combo imo you don't miss out on anything.

Except all of the good PS3 and 360 exclusives...of which there are and will be significantly more than awesome Wii exclusives. But I guess if you don't like good games, that's an excellent combo.

Seriously, unless you own all three, you will miss out on some great games, there's just no way around it.

The point of Vincent's post was that Vincent was attempting to disguise his own opinion as fact re: awesomeness of X360 and PS3 exclusives vs. Wii exclusives.

"But I guess if you don't like awesome games, that's an excellent combo." - What the fuck kind of condescending bullshit is that? Troll.

I got the point your talking about, now see if you can figure out what I thought was bogus about his post. He said PC + Wii combo is for people that DONT LIKE GOOD GAMES.

I agree your missing out if you don't have ps3 / xbox. At least on a few games each system.

The ONLY console-exclusive game I've been dying to have has been GTA IV. Oh wait! There's a PC version now!

PC for single player and online gaming, Wii for when you have people over and want to play party games. Works perfectly in my house.
