Red Baron Arcade Flies to PS3 Sept. 18

Publisher Sierra Online has announced that Red Baron Arcade, Stainless Studios' action-heavy re-imagining of Dynamix's classic PC flight simulator Red Baron, will be released as a downloadable PlayStation 3 game on September 18.

Previously released on the PC, Red Baron Arcade will sport 36 single-player missions and support eight-person online battles in its PS3 incarnation. A price point was not provided, though a free demo will be available at launch.

I absolutley loved the original Dynamix game back in the day, I just thought it was pretty stonking brilliant for it's time. Even if I was horrible at it. I don't quite get the same attraction from what I've seen from this one though.

This looks pretty decent, never even heard of it till today. 8 player online sounds fun if the price is right. Someone else to hold me over until SOCOM hits : )

This title made me flash back to the *ORIGINAL* "Red Barron" game from Atari -- the one found in real arcades (back when that was where you found leading edge video games). Vector graphics and rudimentary 3D wireframe (it used the same hardware as the original -- and far more successful -- Battlezone, just with a single stick controller).

Am I the only one who remembers this game?
