Savage Moon Screenshots Channel Starship Troopers

Publisher Sony has released the first images of FluffyLogic's Savage Moon, an upcoming tower defense-esque action/strategy game now in development for PlayStation 3.

"You are tasked with protecting mining facilities from ravenous space bugs using some truly fearsome weaponry," explained Sony producer Daimion Pinnock on the PlayStation Blog.

The game will be released as a downloadable PlayStation Network game this fall.

That looks like it would run on a PS2. I hope it looks like crap so they can push thousands of enemies on the screen at once. The number of bugs in the screenshots seems awfully underwhelming.

Looks like they surgically removed the fun from TD. Half the apeal for me was completely over-the-top, ridiculous nature of the towers and the creeps. This just looks like pure dross.
