There was time, like most people here, when I was very excited for this game. But now, it just seems so boring and simple :\ It just feels like some of the "magic" from the early builds of the game is gone.

Yes, it might just turn out to be the poor man's RTS and a 'jack of all trades' and 'master of none'.

Yeah I'm waiting for reviews on this one, honestly I think Spore will probably be too "casual" for my tastes.

If you want to see boring, go play Supreme Commander. Ugh, the campaign in that game was so fucking horrible.

The campaign is basically an oversized tutorial. Yeah, it's pretty bad.

        Multiplayer, on the other hand...

that's sort of how I feel...I mean it should be fun but it doesn't seem to have the same appeal to me as it once did...especially when you consider all the other game releases that are coming out at around the same time

Indeed. They're clearly aiming for the mainstream audience with this one. Most of the "cool" features of the game are really nothing more than fluff. Sure, you can create, infinite numbers of different looking creatures and vehicles. But at the end of the day, they all have the same canned behavior and actions. It's basically a watered-down Civilization game, with the ability to make custom (looking) units. Whoop-dee-doo is what I say.
